Following the merger between Aker BP and BP Norge, December 1st, 2016, Aker BP will be operator for Alvheim, Bøyla, Vilje, Volund, Jette, Ula, Hod, Tambar, Skarv and Valhall fields – making Aker BP a major producer of oil and gas. The Alvheim FPSO is a flagship, both for the company and for the area, and Valhall is also a significant oilfield. Aker BP becomes one of the biggest independent listed oil companies in Europe, measured by production. Aker BP will have a total of 97 licenses on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, of which 46 are operatorships.

Aker BP had, including the portfolio from BP Norway, a production of 122,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2015.
