In due time of the deadline of 21 October, Pertra has today submitted its views to the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (MPE) on the proposed changes in the Petroleum Regulations.

Pertra supports the proposed changes in area fees, which we consider appropriate means to reduce the amount of fallow acreage on the Norwegian Shelf. The proposed fees should be sufficient with regard to provoking either exploration activities or relinquishments in such licenses.

Pertra is, however, critical to some of the other proposed changes, which we argue will cause both confusion and unnecessary bureaucracy.
