Concent for Dovregubben

Det norske has received government approval to drill the prospect Dovregubben in production license 468 in the Norwegian Sea.

The well (6305/9-2) is to be drilled by the semi-submersible drilling rig Aker Barents. The operations are planned to start in December 2010.

The prospect is located east of the Ormen Lange gas field. The resource potential of Dovregubben is estimated to be 100-220 million oil equivalent. Water depth at the site is 275 meters. Det norske has pre-installed the base well and protective structure with Island Enforcer in advance of the activities.

Det norske is the operator of the license, and owns 95 percent.

GDF SUEZ E & P Norway has bought a 5 percent share of the license from Det norske. The agreement awaits government approval.
