Det norske oljeselskap ASA is currently in the process of preparing plans for a redevelopment of the oil field Frøy in the North Sea. Frøy is located within the area comprised by Production License (PL) 364.

Det norske oljeselskap (operator) and Premier Oil Norge each holds a 50 % license interest.

Frøy is located in Blocks 25/2 and 25/5, approximately 25 kilometers northeast of Heimdal. The field was in production from 1995 to 2001, with Elf as operator. Only 18% of the oil in place was produced during that period.

As operator of PL 364, Det norske oljeselskap has prepared an Environmental Impact Assessment as part of the Plan for Development and Operation (PDO). The Environmental Impact Assessment has been submitted to the authorities concerned and to central governmental and non-governmental organizations for comments. The assessment provides a description of the project, natural resources in the area, expected emissions to air, discharges to water and the consequences of these. In addition, assessments of accidental oil spills and emergency preparedness are included, as well as impact on fishery and community.
