Gas discovery at Skirne East

Det norske oljeselskap ASA, partner in PL627, announces that drilling of exploration well 25/6-5 S on the Skirne East prospect in the North Sea is about to be completed.

The well encountered a 10-metre gross gas column in the Middle Jurassic (Hugin formation) with good reservoir qualities. The well was not formation tested, but data collection and sampling were carried out. Preliminary volume estimates for the discovery are in the range of 3-10 million barrels of oil equivalent. The licensees will evaluate the discovery with regards to a potential development.

Det norske holds a 20 percent working interest in PL627. Total E&P Norge is the operator with 40 percent working interest. Faroe Petroleum Norge AS and Centrica Resources (Norge) AS each hold 20 percent as partner.
