Det norske has today received PSA’s consent to drill the Kalvklumpen prospect in the Frøy area in the North Sea.
Kalvklumpen is located in license 414, approximately 20 kilometers east of Frøy (PL 364). The well is named 25/6-4. Drilling operations is to be carried out with the semi-submersible rig Songa Delta.
The license was awarded Det norske in APA 2006 (Awards in Predefined Areas), which is an annual licensing round in mature parts of the Norwegian continental shelf.
Det norske is the operator with a stake of 40 percent interest. Faroe Petroleum, Norwegian Energy Company and Bayerngas are partners with a 20 percent stake each.
Drilling is planned to start in the third quarter of 2011.
