The Jotun field was closed by the end of 2016.
Production on Jotun commenced in 1999 and had 22 production wells to be carried out under the proposed decommissioning plan.
The Jotun installations comprise a floating production, storage and offloading unit (Jotun A), and a wellhead platform (Jotun B).
Jotun is tied in to the Balder field, and also processes gas from Balder and oil from the Jurassic reservoir in the Ringhorne oil deposit. Jotun is located at a depth of approximately 126 metres. The reservoir is located at a depth of approximately 2,000 metres.
License partners on Jotun are ExxonMobil E&P Norway (operator, 90 percent interest), Aker BP (7 percent) and Faroe Petroleum Norge (3 percent).
