When the APA 2006 licenses were awarded in January 2007, the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy announced that ten additional licenses would be awarded later this year. The postponed awards were announced by the Ministry 31 May.
Pertra was awarded a 20% share in Block 6608/7. The license is operated by DNO, and contains a Paleocene prospect. The other license partners are Petro-Canada and Noreco. The initial period is six years, and the decision to drill or relinquish the license has to be made within three years.
