On Tuesday 8 May 2007, Pertra participated in the preliminary round of “Adresseavisen Sail Cup”, where our team outdistanced its competitors from the oil industry, Statoil and EMGS. Pertra’s crew could celebrate a joyous victory when they rounded the goal posts well ahead of their competitors in two out of three heats!
Pertra had mustered a proud crew consisting of the following persons: Jan Gunnar Opsal (skipper), Trude Gjeldnes, Robert Kristiansen, Øyvind Husby, Janne Johansen, Bodil Alteren, Kjell Berg, and Ole-Tom Ingebrigtsen.
“We gathered on the premises of Blaa Energi, where the requisite sailing equipment was distributed, and where we received an introduction to the art of sailing before we set out on the Trondheim Fjord to check out the conditions.
It was a windy day, so making headway presented no problem. In the first heat we set out last and faced difficulties when attempting to gain the lead over our competitors. EMGS won the first heat. In the second heat we timed our departure well, and as we had a fair wind we could all rejoice at crossing the finish line first.
In the third and last heat, we took off without any problems and really put on speed. Consequently, the competitors were soon trailing a short distance behind us. Toward the end of the voyage we increased this distance significantly and again finished first – to great acclamation!
After the regatta we gathered on the premises of Blaa Energi to enjoy a delicious tapas dinner and receive our well-merited prizes.”
