The seminar is this year held in Berlin, September 24th to the 27th. Representatives from all oil companies with interests on the Norwegian continental shelf, lawyers, Norwegian authorities and Universities are gathered to discuss legal matters associated with the industry.

The initiators to the seminar were the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, The University of Oslo and the oil companies. The purpose of the gathering is that all affected parties can meet for professional debate and transfer of experience.

Det norske has no legal professionals employed, but Erik Haugane emphasizes that the need for legislative competence is steady – certainly nowadays since the merger with Aker Exploration is a big focus.
